Frustration [Edit]

[Edit: October 3rd, 2009]

Hi guys...

It's been nearly three months now since I sent my initial inquiry to College Board over my missing painting.

And three months later, things haven't changed. My painting is still missing. Every time I call or email to ask if any developments have been made to recover my painting, they send the same reply: that nothing new has happened, and that they'll contact me when something does happen.

At this point, my parents have been telling me to just accept that my painting is gone for good - probably having been sent to some other art student who liked it so much that they decided to keep it. But I feel so upset about this, and seeing as this is DA, I'm sure that you all will understand what I'm feeling. I feel as if a part of me has gone missing, having put so much of my time and my self into that painting.

I feel upset that College Board could have allowed this to happen, could have treated the pieces of art that was submitted to them so callously that this mix-up has taken place. And I feel betrayed by whoever ended up receiving my painting because they kept my art - that even though they are an artist just like me, they didn't think to send it back.

I don't have any hope in the integrity of my fellow art students anymore because of this. How could something like this happen? Maybe it's because I feel so betrayed that I can't just accept that it's gone, like my parents have been telling me. I don't want to give up on getting my painting back - I refuse to give up. But I don't know where I'm supposed to go from here. What else can I do?

I just don't know what I'm supposed to do anymore.

I finally got my portfolio to College Board sent back to me this morning from my Studio Art submission. But there's a problem.

They only sent back four of my pieces, when I sent five to them.

I'm not quite sure why only four of my pieces were returned to me, but I'm very upset. If they are purposely keeping it longer for some reason, I would have liked to have some sort of explanation given to me over why they're doing so. After all, this was my favorite painting out of the five that I sent to them.

And if they didn't purposely keep it...

And they sent it on accident to some other student...

Well, I don't even have the words to explain how I'd feel. But I think it would look something like this: :pissedoff:

Ugh. Where did my painting go?

Just give them a ring to try to find out?

Maybe there are other people with your name too? :P

Either that or CollegeBoard wants to do something EXTREME (best or worst) to your piece.

And could you tell/show me which 5 pieces they are?
:iconartisticmaster:
Well, do you remember those serial number stickers that we had for AP testing? We had to put this stickers on the frames of all our pieces, so there's no way that it could have gotten mixed up that way. :(

I sent in my grandmother's portrait, my inked lily piece, and three other oil paintings that I put on my fb but not on DA.

I tried on Friday, when I first found out, but their offices were closed for the Independence Day weekend. :( I'm going to try calling in again today when their office opens.

Hmm. Well, I called in on Monday and left my information with the operator. He said that he would call me back as soon as he gets some information on what could have happened. So for now, I'm just crossing my fingers. I also got a "case number", so that if I get impatient, I can call in and get an update.

I'm trying very hard not to call them every hour like I want to. :P But yeah... so far, that's it.

Hmmm, too bad you get to speak to an operator and not to the one that sends back the paintings... That's a sure shame!

Keep me updated if you should hear more!

So the company called my house, and according to my mom (since I'm away at university, she took the call for me), there's still looking for the painting. Still! I'm not sure if they have leads on where it may have gone, but I'm losing hope on it at this point. :( I feel... well, not betrayed, but something very similar, because you kind of trust them to take care of your work, you know?

Ahhhh. I don't know what else to do. :faint:
